This hunting lease is leased and not available.
If you're looking for awesome SD Pheasant hunting, and lots of nice whitetails this might be the property for you. This lease is 1.5 miles east-west, and north-south. There's nearly two miles of grassy creek beds intersecting this farm creating perfect pheasant hunting walks. On the NW side there's about 200 acres of pasture, and on the SE side there's another 70 acres of pasture.
All throughout the farm there are old stock dams loaded with cattails, as well as other low grass spots. Between the low spots, stock dams, creeks, fence lines, pastures and ditches there's enough cover to wear your dogs out. My dog was pointing roosters the whole time we were viewing this one. Everywhere there was cover birds were flushing.
Every tree on this property was shredded by the whitetails. The trails down the shelterbelts look like cows made them. I can't imagine the rut activity on these in November. All non-resident archery tags are guaranteed each year. Get on the right side of the shelterbelt for the wind and it's almost not fair out in this country. If you want an archery chip shot on a big buck for a young child this is the spot. You know you're in great deer country when the huge fence post in the ditch is being rubbed hard (see photos).
You can stay at the same hotel I did while inspecting this one. It's in Huron about 20 minutes away. They have areas to clean and take care of game.
ATV use for hunting is allowed. Remember, absolutely NO driving on un-harvested crops, or seeded ground. Even when crops are standing you should be able to get around this one on an ATV in the grass.
